Finalists have been announced for this year’s Piedmont Business Ethics Awards (PBEA). This year’s nine finalists are: Airsoft R Us Tactical, Anderson-Moore Builders, Duncan Exxon, Flow Automotive, Miss Jenny’s Pickles, Planet Fitness, Samet Corp, Spevco, and The Soap Lady. The announcement was made by PBEA Judging Chair Ruth Petty.

”Each of these companies has demonstrated great ethics through their actions and policies,” said Petty. The Piedmont Business Ethics Awards recognize the finalists and will celebrate ethics in business at a luncheon awards ceremony at Starmount Forest Country Club on Tuesday, April 29.

During this luncheon, up to six winners will be chosen from this field of finalists. The event is open to the public and registration is available on the PBEA website at www.piedmontethics.com. Attendees will include Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan, Guilford College President Kent Chabotar and nearly 200 business leaders all of whom recognize the value and importance of an ethical business community in the Triad.

The awards ceremony is sponsored by the Greensboro Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals in partnership with Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., LLP and DMJ Wealth Advisors, LLC and First Citizens Bank.

Established locally in 2000, the Piedmont Business Ethics Awards and its counterpart at the national level—Society of Financial Service Professionals—honor companies that demonstrate a firm commitment to ethical business practices in everyday operations, management philosophies, and responses to crises or challenges. An independent panel of judges drawn from Piedmont academia evaluated all of the local companies that entered and will narrow down the finalist list to announce the 2014 PBEA winners.

The Society’s Greensboro Chapter is part of a national network of more than 180 SFSP chapters. Founded in 1928, the Society has nearly 12,000 members nationwide who help families, individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals. Society members have earned recognized professional credentials in the financial services industry or are working towards attaining a professional credential. Society members can assist their clients with estate planning, retirement and financial counseling, employee benefits, business and compensation planning and life, health, disability income and long-term care insurance needs.
