GREENSBORO, NC - Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., LLP is pleased to recognize J. Eric Panknin, MSCE for his involvement in Leadership North Carolina. Panknin join the 16th Leadership North Carolina class in October 2008 and is expected to complete the program in May 2009.  Panknin attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a B.A. in Radio, Television, and Motion Pictures.  Since, Panknin has gained a more formal education in his field, becoming a Certified Novell Administrator, Certified Citrix Administrator and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and now participating in Leadership North Carolina.

Leadership North Carolina is designed to inform, develop and engage committed business leaders by expanding their understanding of and involvement in current issues facing our state. They seek individuals who have commitment, motivation and interest to serve the State of North Carolina. The program is aimed at persons who have demonstrated community and professional leadership experiences in their career.

Leadership North Carolina consists of six monthly, two-day sessions focusing on issues including: Economic Development, Education, Environment, Government/Politics, and Health/Human Services.  Through discussions with top officials and professionals in these areas, field trips and experiential activities, participants learn valuable knowledge concerning critical issues in North Carolina.
 
Upon completion, Panknin will be among the other Leadership North Carolina graduates at DMJ. DMJ has sponsored six participants in Leadership North Carolina including: Sheryl Austin, CLU, ChFc, CFP, Wealth Advisor Partner; R. Milton Howell, III, CPA, CSEP, Partner;  Laurie D, Williams, CPA, Burlington Manager; Stacy West, CPA, Audit Manager;  Mike Gillis, Managing Partner;  and graduate Cliff Aldrin, CPA, Tax Manager. DMJ is honored to have these participants working in our firm and has benefited from their knowledge acquired during the program.
