DMJ Officially Breaks Ground at New Office Site
February 26, 2008

GREENSBORO, NC- On Monday, February 25, the accounting and professional service firm of Davenport, Marvin, Joyce, & Co., LLP (DMJ) officially broke ground at the site of their planned two-story 30,000 square foot office building. The firm's new office, which is slated for completion in the fall of 2008, will be located in the Green Valley Office Park area directly across from Proximity Hotel. DMJ partners each took part in the Groundbreaking Ceremony with "shovels in the ground." Firm members and associates had the distinct opportunity to plant Lunaria seeds, also known as the "the money plant," as a symbolic gesture of prosperity and good fortune for the new office.

Mike Gillis, DMJ managing partner, remarked "this groundbreaking is a direct result of our firm's commitment to our people, our community, and our business relationships."

Today's event follows a formal announcement made by the firm in November to purchase the property from Starmount Company. Following its construction, DMJ will relocate from its current Battleground Avenue location and occupy the new office as firm headquarters. DMJ also maintains staff with office locations in Burlington, Sanford, and Coimbatore, India. In the next three years, the firm projects its budget to grow by forty percent due to an increase in work in such core areas as tax and audit.
