GREENSBORO, NC - Audit and accounting partner Dana R. Beeson, CPA of Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., LLP (DMJ) will be one of 45 leading citizens from 18 different counties across the state forming the 2009-2010 class of Leadership North Carolina. Leadership North Carolina selects citizens who are current or emerging leaders in the state, as well as in their communities and organizations, to participate in the program. Beeson joined the Greensboro-based accounting firm DMJ in 1990 and is responsible for planning and supervising engagements of various businesses including non-profit organizations, manufacturing, professional services, construction contractors and healthcare.

Beeson attended Towson State University, where she earned a B.S. Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. In addition to being licensed as a Certified Public Accountant, Dana holds Series 7, 66 and 24 securities licenses issued by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and serves as the Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) for DMJ Wealth Advisors. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, Beeson currently serves on the Boards of the ARC of Greensboro, Carolina Flyers, Inc., The Greensboro Estate Planning Council, and is a dedicated volunteer for Special Olympics North Carolina.

Leadership North Carolina’s Class XVII is comprised of top leaders from the government, business, nonprofit and education sectors. The class meets six times over seven months in cities across the state to explore critically important issues in five key policy areas: economic development, education, environment, government and politics, and health and human services. There are over seven hundred graduates of the program whose continued ties to Leadership North Carolina and one another provide them with a high level of awareness of opportunities to serve the state.
