Arthur M. Winstead, Jr., CPA, of Davenport, Marvin, Joyce and Co., LLP,
Re-Appointed to AICPA Auditing Standards Board

GREENSBORO, NC — On November 1, 2008, Arthur M. Winstead, Jr., CPA, was re-appointed as one of the 19 members of the AICPA Auditing Standards Board. The Auditing Standards Board is the senior technical standards setting body of the AICPA.
Winstead, who was certified as a North Carolina CPA in 1980, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNC-G) with a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in accounting and a minor in political science.
He joined the CPA firm, Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., LLP, in 1978 and became a Partner in 1984. Winstead is a General Services Partner with the firm and the firm-wide Accounting, Auditing and Quality Control Partner. He serves as team captain for the Private Companies Practice Section peer reviews throughout the country and State of North Carolina. Art has also served as Chairman of the CPAmerica Accounting and Auditing Executive Committees.
His memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves as President of the North Carolina Board of CPA Examiners, which is the North Carolina CPA Regulatory Board.
Art is very active in community affairs. As examples: he is a life member of the Greensboro Jaycees; he is or has been active in scouting, the Greensboro One Task Force Committee, the American Cancer Society, the City of Greensboro Human Services Commission, the Community Development Commission, the Greensboro Transit Authority, the Greensboro Center City Committee, the Greensboro Coliseum Commission, the Greensboro Comprehensive Plan Committee and many more. He is an active committee chairman at Guilford Park Presbyterian Church where he has also served as a Deacon and an Elder. He is also a member of the Greensboro 100 Club.
