Shirley B. Weigel is originally from Durant, Oklahoma. She is a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a B.S. Degree in Accounting and Management.
She moved to Houston, Texas upon graduation and entered private industry and eventually became chief accountant for a group of oil and gas companies in Texas. Among other duties, she was responsible for the preparation of consolidated financial statements of the affiliated group of companies.
Shirley joined Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., LLP in September 1990. Since that time, she has worked in the accounting and auditing department and was promoted to Audit Manager in May 1998 and is a member of the firm's accounting and auditing committee. She is responsible for planning and supervising engagements of various businesses in the areas of distribution, non-profit organizations, manufacturing, professional services, and construction
Shirley is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Shirley enjoys spending time with her husband, John, and their six labrador retrievers, participating in the sport of dog agility, and reading.
