Donna B. Johnson was raised in Olivia, North Carolina, and graduated from Benhaven High School in 1973. She attended Central Carolina Community College where she received an Associate in Applied Science Degree in 1975. After working for 13 years as a secretary and paraprofessional, Donna decided to return to school and complete the academic requirements to take the uniform examination required to be a certified public accountant. Accordingly, in the fall of 1988, she returned to Central Carolina Community College and completed the courses to qualify to sit for the CPA exam. She successfully passed the last part of the CPA exam in 1991 and was certified in October of that year.
In April 1990, Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., L.L.P., merged with the firm Donna had worked with since 1975. In September 1994, she was promoted to the position of Manager and in November 2004, she was promoted to Partner.
Donna is involved in professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Donna is a member of Broadway Baptist Church where she is Treasurer and Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee.
